THANK YOU FRIENDS OF FAIR PARK!
DRBTS wants to give a huge and special shout out to Friends of Fair Park (David Berryman) for believing in the vision of the park and seeing it's important role in the community. We're very grateful for the relationship and partnership with them!
The continuation of the original food park/open space project - the MLK Food Park! Designed to reimagine and rethink the use of vacant and/or under-utilized spaces in South Dallas. An opportunity to create a communal public space for gathering, access to resources, neighbors and community.
The date for the second installation is SUNDAY, JULY 11th!
From 12-4p come experience the MLK Food Park again (on a smaller scale) at 2929 MLK Jr. Boulevard!
This installment will run as a "pop up" that showcases a variety of locally owned businesses while creating a well deserved community gathering space. Installations will operate within the boundaries of MLK Jr Blvd., Holmes and Pennsylvania - more than likely along MLK because we want the name to remain as we grow. The pop up installations are a build up to something more permanent that lives in South Dallas all the time!
This time the food park will only operate for ONE DAY, Sunday July 11th from 12p-4p. Vendor fees will be $30 for non-food vendors (cottage food, custom items, clothing, jewelry, etc.) and $50 for food vendors which are those preparing hot food on-site. Food vendors will also have to obtain a temporary food permit which is an additional fee.
Vendors will be selected based on their fit with the intent of the food park which will prioritize South Dallas/75215 businesses.
Vendors will be selected and announced Friday, June 18th! Everyone will be notified via email and will have until Friday, July 2nd to pay vendor fees. Non-payment will result in removal of vendors from the food park. Vendor fees can be paid through ApplePay, CashApp, Venmo and cash if need be.
